Monique Roy

Hello everyone!! I am your Resident Dean, which means that I am here to support your well-being, academic and otherwise, during your time here in Pfoho. I am originally from northern Maine and lived for many years in New Hampshire before landing in the Boston area. I hold a BA and MA from Dartmouth College and a PhD in French Language and Literature from Boston University. My academic interests range from Acadian and Franco-American literature to gender studies, cultural studies and student development theory.

My personal interests include gardening, experimenting with fermentation (pickles, kombucha, sourdough bread, etc), rugby (I played in college) and spending time with family and friends. My wife Julia and I both love living in Pfoho and are both looking forward to meeting all of you. Julia has a Masters in Architecture and works for a small firm located in Allston. One of her passions is to cook, and she also loves any kind of art or DIY project. She enjoys collaborating on recipes (like the homemade jelly we made from Pfoho grapes) or projects - you can hit her up with your ideas! Together Julia and I enjoy spending time outside (hiking, camping, snowshoeing) and we are eager to join in many of Pfoho's New England excursions.

I am on sabbatical for the Spring 2024 semester. You can connect with our Interim ABRD, Katia Chadaideh while I am away, and can still email pforzheimerhousedean@fas.harvard.edu
