Pfellowships, Science Writing
Hey everyone! My name is Chris, and I’m thrilled to be returning to the Pfoho community as a second-year resident tutor. I was an undergraduate at Amherst College and graduated from Harvard with a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2019. In graduate school, my primary focus was the use of synthetic organic chemistry to develop new tools to study and treat human disease. I then spent a year as a Fellow at Vertex Pharmaceutics to gain firsthand exposure to the drug discovery process. I'm currently a research scientist at a small biotechnology startup that's focused on brain disease.
Here at Pfoho, I help with the pFellowships team, offer perspectives on graduate school and biotech, and guide students through the often-esoteric world of organic chemistry. My other interests include running, writing, military history, behavioral science, and (most importantly) all things coffee. I also spend a non-negligible amount of time trying to convince my partner, Brittany, that we shouldn’t try to give our cat, Cashew, a bath or take her for a walk.
